My Personal and Professional Design History:
I have over 15 years of experience designing for both print and web and enjoy the challenge of creating fresh ideas in the face of an ever-changing marketing landscape. As a multidisciplinary designer who works with almost any client, my approach is pragmatic because not every project results in the same solution.
In 1995, after finishing the Bachelor of Fine Arts Graphic Design program at Massachusetts College of Art, I began my design career in San Francisco, interning with CNET.com’s in-house art department. My first full-time position exposed me to the world of brand development, working for Pepsico’s flagship Mexican restaurant, Chevys Fresh Mex. I further advanced my experience in branding as a design team member supporting the launch of the casual dining concept WrapWorks.
Fresh from my experiences in restaurant branding, I became an art director for a marketing firm in Lafayette, California, designing public relations materials for the region’s public water utility, Contra Costa Water District. After returning to my home state of Massachusetts in 2000, I began work as a senior art director with a technology startup called Beansprout Networks. My responsibilities included designing site user interface standards, sales and marketing collateral, and management of corporate branding standards.
In 2002, after settling in Connecticut, I worked as a senior art director for the advertising agency Cashman Katz, designing for various state agencies and corporate clients.
Today, I am a Senior Art Director with Mission Control Inc., a leading national Democratic direct mail firm.
